MATERIAL REPORTS: OVERVIEW

From the EPLANT-Piping Data Base Module two types of Material Reports can be generated:

• MATERIAL REPORTS directly from the Project Material table where the material is associaded to the 3D Model and Piping Line that generates it. Reports can be generated with most varied conditions and formats.
• MATERIAL REQUISITIONS to automatically group the material of the whole project in Requisitions for purchase, its 3D Model and Line not withstanding:

Although the Material Reports are automatically generated, the following minimal controls must be done to insure that the Material Take Off includes all the required material. Material processed by the data base module comes from:

• Material corresponding to each project 3D model.
• Material manually loaded in the data base module as an estimate, if any.

The recommended sequence before generating any material report is the following:

• Open the Project with the Data Base module opening and verify whether any Update Errors are produced in the process. In case some errors are detected, take the appropriate steps to fix them.
• Browse the Material Status Report of each 3D project model.
• If a 3D model has not the Report OK status, open that model with AutoCAD and execute the PD_1 / 3D Model Material Report command to regenerate the interchange file with the data base.
• In case of any material report regenerated while the project is open in the data base module, execute the menu Utilities / Reload DB command.
• Verify if there is any manually loaded material. If this is the case, check to avoid duplication with the same material coming from 3D models.
