EPLANT-Piping V 2009.0

Documentation changes with respect V2008.0

Listed below are the most important changes of this version with respect to the former 2008.0 one. Current version is compatible with AutoCADŽ from version 2000 up to 2010.

GRAPHIC MODULE

It contains the following changes with respect to the 2008.0 version:

• AutoCADŽ 2010. This EPLANT-Piping version is compatible with the latest 2010 version of AutoCADŽ.
• Piping Class Verification. This command has been enhanced to check current dimension tables: this allows to rebuild a component due to dimensional changes.
• Component Modification. New option to modify any characteristic of piping components already placed in the 3D model.
• Iso MTO Format. New option to place Report Line on two different lines for each component listed. New fields has been included also: Short Description associated to CODA, Tag, spaces to separate fields. Tag can be included to discriminate between materials.
• Automatic North Symbol. The North Symbols can be automatically placed to reflect the "true" north in the isometric extraction.
• 2D View Extraction. An additional filter can be setup to limit the extraction on those element with Layers ON. Negative scale checking on View prism.
• Error messages. All error messages warning of missing files are repeated in the command line in addition to the dialog box. This is useful in case of long path names that may not fit inside dialog boxes.
• 2D Plan Annotation. BOP and TOP elevation reference line is placed at the Top and Bop of the snapped point. This is useful in vertical views.
• New Equipment Nozzle. Updates the reference point used by the AutoCAD point selector.
• 3D Tipical Assemblies. Purges the tipic block definition after its placement. Useful in case of a redefinition.
• Clean DWG from Applications. Two order of magnitude increased speed in the cleaning process.
• COD.DBF Validation. Better validation of critical parameters read from COD.DBF to avoid propagation of configuration errors.
• Component purge. New command to delete components and nozzles associated to lines and equipments no longer defined in the current drawing: (pd_cmd "DEL_CMP_ND").
• Joint Codes. New W code for socket welded ends. Individual annotate control of each welding code.
• Component Characteristics. Components can be now selected also with the graphic selection of their attributes.
• PDL language extension. There is a new table reading mode SEL to allow reading a set of dimensions assigned to a given diameter: the user select the required dimension in a menu.
• Connectivity Check. Informs of Vertical Axis References if any.
• New 3D Components. The following new piping components have been defined new:

  TUR = REDUCT. TUBE CONNECTOR
  TUC = CURVED TUBING
  
• Error Corrections
  - Explicit Spool Correction error when graphically selecting the active line: it made confusion between line layer with the same prefix, sometime setting as the active line not the selected one.
  - Manual Isometric Annotation Correction error for: coordinates, joints and component data. Error introduced in V2008.0.
  - Iso Automatic Dimension Correction error for placing insulation symbology in case of components with only one connection point.
  - Include 3D Model Correction of layer error: imported elements layers were not changed to new ones. Error introduced in V2008.0.
  - Supports in Isometrics Supports are dimensioned only if required.
  - Pipe Tolerance Symbol Writes the pipe tolerance in the field welding symbols.
  - 2D View Definition Correction of an error that did not allow to create a new view. This error was introduced with the 2008.2 version.
  - Isometric Dimensioning Correction of an error that could stop the Automatic Isometric Dimensioning command in some line configurations. This error was introduced with the 2008.2 version.
  - Piping Color Change Correction of an error that disabled the window used by this command. This error was introduced with the 2008.0 version.
  - EPLANT-STH Correction of an error that did not allow to show Material and Standard when querying for EPLANT-STH components.
  

DATA BASE MODULE

It contains the following changes with respect to the 2008.0 version:

• Reports to XLS. All reports have now three options: direct output to printer, output to text file or XLS file.
  In case of text file output the report can have a predefined and modifiable header or a simplified automatic header. The same in case of XLS file output that can use a predefined template. For each report type there is a predefined default format, but other formats can be defined and added to the default one. During the report generation they can be selected to change the report format. They can also be imported from other projects.
• Data Base Update. There is a new interface to show how many errors are detected during data base automatic update with an included Help with information about how to solve the errors found if any.
• Main Menu Modification. Line and Equipment menus have been modified deleting the Export to XLS options (now available as reports to XLS file) and compacting the Scheduling options in specific menus.
• Stud Tables. The Nominal Diameter is directly searched in the DIAM field, instead of using the equivalent DD diameter that is no longer used. This simplifies the modification of these tables and assures the same reading mode both in the data base and graphic module.
• Piping Classes Checking. New option to automatically verify Piping Classes for internal consistency.
• Dimensional Catalog Checking. New option to automatically check the Dimensional Catalog against Piping Classes definitions of the current project.
• Delete Piping Classes. New option to delete all project piping classes.
• Import DBF from XLS. New option to import a DBF table directy from a XLS file.
• Filter on DBF Editor. New option to filter a DBF table when opened with the generic DBF Editor in the UTILITIES menu.
• 3D Model Setup. New option to enable the Gasket Thickness checking during component placement.
• Joint Codes Setup. New code for Socket Welded end codes with individual control to place note in isometric.
• Error Corrections
  - Data Base tables for Shared use: correction when opening the project material table PIP.DBF where some tables were opened Exclusive, the project shared setting notwithstanding.
  - Colors: correction in menus for setting colors: all selection appeared shifted one position. This error was introduced in V2008.0.
  - Thrubolts: correction in thrubolt lenght for implicit = 2 or 4: for new 3D models is was not adding the component lenght to the bolt. This error was introduced in V2007.0. Correction implemented in V2008.3.1 of the data base module.
  - Utilities: Correction in the DBF import from XLS option.
  - Filter: Now compatible with paths having spaces in its name.
  - Instruments: Generate Implicit Elements also for ORD=8.
