EPLANT-Piping V 5.2
CHANGES IN 5.2 VERSION WITH RESPECT TO THE PREVIOUS ONE 5.1
GRAPHIC MODULE
It contains the following changes with respect to the original 5.1 version:
- ToolBars Menu. ToolBars Menus have been defined which allow to
directly call some of the most used commands.
- Implicit Automatic Checking. The Connectivity Check has been enhanced adding
an automatic checking of the implicit codes assigned to adjacent components and allows
their correction. Inconsistent implicit codes can be generated in case of multiple
component deletion and regeneration. This new checking guaranties the perfect
generation of these elements (gaskets and stud or weldings).
- Line Modification. It allows now to modify all line parameters and not the name
only as before.
- Line Copy. The line name can be selected graphically and from a popup menu
also.
- MTO in 3D/Plans. The MTO command used to generate Material Listings in
isometrics can be now called in 3D Models and Plans drawings.
- Implicit elements TAG in MTO. The MTO command used to generate Material
Listings can be now automatically place Stud TAGs on the drawing. Gasket and Welding TAGs
can be placed manually.
- Flow Direction. There is a new component (not computable) with the FLW code,
which is used to define the Line Flow Direction in 3D models. During the isometric
extraction the symbol associated to this component is also being extracted. It must be
connected at some pipe connection point.
- Second end in isometrics. When the end code associated to the second
connection point is different to the first one, this code is included in the isometric
symbol name, to allow a better graphical representation.
- Plan Extraction New Symbols. There are three new Symbols for Pipe Cut and
Insulation. There is also a new Annotate option to place Component Data.
- Ahlstar Centrifugal Pumps. New pumps added from the Ahlstar catalog.
- External Data Link. To each Equipment, Line and Components with Tag, an
arbitrary number of external files (any format) can be automatically linked, placing
them in the new LINK project directory or anywhere defining the link with a table.
During a query with the Component Name, Line Name or Equipment Name commands, if any
file is found it can be automatically opened. Depending on project setup, the
association is strictly enforced (file names must be equal to the Equipment/Line or Tag
value) or the parameter value can be interpreted as the file name prefix.
- P&ID Query. The Component Name, Line Name or Equipment Name commands allow
to display all related data from EPLANT-P&ID module used in the same project.
- Equipment Layers. New command to control Equipment visibility, selecting their
names. Similar to the existing Line Layer control. Automatic Xref support.
- Line Layers. The existing command has been enhanced to support attached
xref files.
- Tag search. New command to search and zoom in to a component selected by its
tag value. Automatic Xref support.
- Line Name (old Line HighLight). It has been enhanced with automatic Xref
support, External Files link and P&ID query.
- Equipment Name. It has been enhanced with automatic Xref support, External
Files link and P&ID query.
- Schedule by Phases and Dates. New command to allow to graphically representing
any construction or operational Phase assigned to Equipments and Piping Lines on 3D
Models.
- Isometric Extraction. The command has been enhanced for the automatic
sheet cutting option, allowing to perform totally unattended extractions.
The following changes were made with respect to the last 5.1.4 patch:
- AutoPipe. It is a new command to automatically generate pipe runs between
unconnected existing components on a line. Go to PD_1 / Pipes / Automatic.
- Line Rute. This command has been completely renewed. It allows selecting
the first point with more options and successive points are selected from a new
dialog box where filters can be defined as well as inclination and graphic references.
- Elbows and Tees. Elbows and Tees can be generated directly connecting them
to an existing component, without the need of a Line Route.
- End and Displacement. Snapping to a Connection Point during component
generation, a displacement can be specified to move the component by that amount either
with respect to the selected connection point or the center of the selected component.
It allows to place any component without the need of a Line Route.
- Component Rotate. After the generation of each component, it can be rotated
around the piping axis without exit the placement command.
- Nozzle Rotation. After the generation of each nozzle, it can be rotated
around the any of the current UCS axis without exit the placement command.
- Nozzle Generation. Now it allows defining a nozzle without using a Piping
Specification.
- Nozzle Modification. Now it allows modifying any nozzle characteristic and
not only the name as before.
- 3D Typical Assemblies. The new TIP project directory is used to define 3D
Typical Assemblies. Typics are generated as normal piping lines and they can be
automatically inserted in any project model, selecting them from a menu. Go to PD_UTI /
Generic / 3D Typical Assemblies.
- 3D Model Merge. With this command a project model can be automatically
included in the current model. Go to PD_UTI / Generic / 3D Model Merge.
- End Codes. Connection between two components is allowed if the End Codes
of the connection points are Compatible, instead of equal as before.
- Spool Format. Spool Isometric representation can now be use a different
format from the complete isometric sheet format.
- Component Tags. Tag is now available in two formats: one TAG attribute or the
composition of two attributes TYPE and NUM joined with a "-".
- Tags in Supports. Support representation has been changed, adding the TAG
attribute in their definitions.
- Joint Codes. A new category has been added to be used numbering welding
added in field.
- Error Corrections. Fixes: error in pipes generation with welding thickness,
error in Isometric MTO with pipe tolerance.
DATA BASE MODULE
It contains the following changes with respect to the original 5.1 version:
- Manually Loading of Materials. It corrects an error that did not allow
using this option. Already corrected in 5.1.2 patch.
- Checking against P&IDs. The command for Checking of 3D Models against P&IDs
generated with the EPLANT-P&ID module has been enhanced. It allows a better control
and automatically generate two exception reports for each type of checked object type:
Lines, Equipments, Control / Relief and Generic Valves, Instruments. If the
EPLANT-P&ID module is not used, it can also be used manually loading P&ID reports.
- Sum with Condition. There is a new option in the Listing of the Original Data
option that allows computing the total quantity of materials using an arbitrary key
and imposing and arbitrary filter. It can be very useful to generate totals for
checking.
- Piping Class Utilities. A new command has been developed to automatically
generate fittings and flanges, using the pipe definition of the same class.
- Component Class: SYMBOL. The new SYMBOL component class has been added.
Components belonging to this class behave like any other component except they are
not computable.
- External Data Link. Generates the project LINK directory to store external
documents linked to Equipments, Lines and components with Tag.
- Project Setup. New options: 3D Models with option selection for the external
files link method and Color used in Xref selections. Schedule Date format.
- Schedule by Phases and Dates. New options to define Equipment and Line Phases
and to load Dates to each Equipment/Line for each phase. Two colors are associated to
each phase, to show when the phase is finished and when it is delayed. Equipment and Line
Weight by Phase and Date can also be computed.
- List to TXT with arbitrary index. This new option allows to easily sort
any system table using an index defined by the user.
The following changes were made with respect to the last 5.1.4 patch:
- System Codes Updating. It allows to automatically import Component
and Material Codes that the user may have added in a previous system version. It is
a new Utilities option.
INSTALLATION PROGRAM
It contains the following changes with respect to the original 5.1 version:
- Uninstall Program. Installs also an Uninstall Program, which allows either
to completely uninstall the system or the client in the local machine only.
- System Codes Updating. In case of an installation in the same
directory as a previous installation, it allows either to automatically importing Component
and Material Codes that the user may have added in a previous system version or to
delete all previous files and directories, before the installation.
